Where do you turn when you’re in the market for a small, spirited hatchback or sedan? The Chevrolet Sonic, available here at Jack Maxton Chevrolet in Worthington, Ohio, is the choice of more and more buyers because it offers lots of choice. There are two body styles and three trim levels, plus extras like the Dusk Package and the Sonic RS sedan. Offering class-leading rear-seat space and cargo capacity, the 2015 Sonic is distinctive and highly-configurable.
The standard powertrain for the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic is a 1.8-liter Ecotec four-cylinder that’s paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. This naturally-aspirated engine produces 138 hp and 125 lb/ft of torque. A turbocharged 1.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder is also available in the Sonic LS and standard in Sonic LTZ, Dusk and RS trims. The turbocharged Sonic delivers 138 hp and 148 lb/ft of torque available from 1,850 to 4,900 rpm. The 1.4-liter turbo engine can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission, a combination that returns an EPA-estimated 40 mpg highway.
The Sonic Hatchback is available in LS, LT, LTZ and RS trims. In addition to the 1.8-liter four-cylinder and a five-speed manual transmission, standard LS equipment includes 15-inch steel wheels and 10 standard airbags. Also standard are Bluetooth® device integration and the latest-generation OnStar with a six-month trial of the Directions & Connections Plan. Chevrolet MyLink, with its 
seven-inch color touch-screen and six-speaker audio system, is available. Remote Keyless Entry and the StabiliTrak electronic stability control are included, too.
The Sonic LT Hatchback adds 15-inch aluminum wheels, cruise control, a rear-vision camera and a three-month trial of SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The Sonic LT Hatchback also features an advanced standard safety package, power windows, a six-speaker premium audio system with USB port and extra available enhancements. You can add the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and the Wheels and Foglamp Package with its 16-inch alloy wheels, foglamps and spoiler.
The Sonic LTZ Hatchback is the luxury Sonic, with standard Chevrolet MyLink, rear-vision camera, Bluetooth®, Pandora®, TuneIn, and Stitcher SmartRadio™ compatibility, 17-inch aluminum wheels, handsome perforated leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, foglamps and voice recognition for phone commands. It’s the one to buy when you want a loaded Sonic.
The Sonic RS Hatchback is just as well-equipped as the LTZ, and carries several trim-specific features, too. The 1.4-liter turbocharged engine and six-speed manual transmission are standard, and it rides on 17-inch Midnight Silver painted aluminum wheels. Strong four-wheel disc brakes provide confident stopping, and a sport exhaust with chrome outlet underscores an athletic intent that is also accentuated by a unique front fascia, RS-specific grille, rear spoiler, rocker moldings, mirror cap finish and “RS” badges. The interior of the Sonic RS gets leather-upholstered sport seats with suede inserts, and a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel.
The Sonic Sedan follows the same pattern. You can get a four-door Sonic in LS, LT, and LTZ trims. The Sonic Dusk package, exclusive to the LTZ Sedan, adds handsome and distinctive exterior appearance features. The Sonic Dusk has its own ground effects, satin aluminum-style trim and 18-inch Pearl Nickel finished alloy wheels. Inside the Sonic Dusk, you’ll get Jet Black leather seats with Mojave Tan sueded microfiber accents.
